WCPS approves Mallory to lead WSTA

GOLDSBORO – Joshua Mallory has been named the new principal at Wayne School of Technical Arts (WSTA), which is scheduled to open on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in August 2022.

The Wayne County Board of Education approved Mallory’s appointment during its recent monthly meeting.

Mallory is currently the assistant principal at Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design.

“Mr. Mallory has been a school administrator for well-established magnet and specialized focused area high schools in Wake County for the past seven years,” said Dr. David Lewis, superintendent of Wayne County Public Schools.

“Mr. Mallory is very excited to help lead and establish a new innovative school here in Wayne County. Our district leadership team looks forward to working with him in the coming months in the launch of WSTA.”

Mallory began his education career in 2007 as an English and language arts teacher at Pasquotank High School in Elizabeth City. He transitioned to the administration level as the assistant principal at Bertie Middle School in 2013.

He took over as AP at Enloe Magnet High School in 2015 before moving over to Knightdale High.

Mallory’s official start date at WSTA has not been set.
