SEVEN SPRINGS — Spring Creek High School administrators are offering a reward for information about recent vandalism on the campus.
The incident occurred on May 27.
Once on campus, the culprits parked out of the closed circuit TV (CCTV) cameras’ range. Dressed in hoodies and masks, they covered the cameras with wood putty to prevent identification.
According to pictures taken by a school employee, the vandals used glue, glitter and eggs to damage the school’s front entrance. A chain with a padlock was attached to the front doors.
The locks were liquid nailed and covered in putty.
Additional damage was done to the school’s memorial garden that honors deceased SC alumni, the flag pole and computer and keyboard at the ticket booth.
The school’s custodial staff repaired and cleaned up most of the vandals’ destruction. The county’s maintenance department the chained lock on the front doors.
Administrators reported the vandalism to the school’s resources officer and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
