Rising Spring Creek senior to attend Governor's School

Ciclaliz Morales-Perez, a rising senior at Spring Creek High School, is invited to the attend the 2022 Governor’s School of North Carolina West in Winston-Salem this summer.

Morales-Perez was recognized during a recent Wayne County Board of Education meeting. She will study mathematics.

Governor’s School of North Carolina is considered the oldest statewide summer residential program for academically- and intellectually-gifted high school students in the nation.

It is a five-week curriculum focused on the exploration of the most recent ideas and concepts in each discipline, and it does not involve credit, testsmor grades.

Students are selected to attend through a competitive process after being nominated by their school district or a non-public school.
