Town officials continue to make last-minute adjustments to the 2022-23 fiscal year budget.
Geoffrey Merritt, town finance director, said the Mount Olive Board of Commissioners reviewed numbers and made revisions during its latest work session on May 3. He said there is no property tax increase and no increase in town-provided services such as water, sewer and trash pickup fees included in the budget.
The proposal does include a 2.5% or more salary increase across the board for town employees.
The general fund and water/sewer funds have not changed.
“This is a realistic budget that puts us living within our means, but it also meets the needs of the people of Mount Olive,” Merritt said.
Commissioners reviewed the budget at their monthly meeting Tuesday. It will be up for adoption in June.
Residents can view the budget proposal at town hall for the next 30 days.
