Three public hearings drew no opposition during the monthly town board of commissioners meeting.
The board approved the annexation of Tractor Supply Company currently under construction on North Breazeale, approved state-mandated flood plain updates and annexed a half-acre lot owned by Danny and Tammy Keel in Brogden Township.
A resolution agreeing to requirements from a recently approved Community Development Block Grant is now official.
The $2 million package is planned to repair inflow and infiltration work in the southeastern quadrant of town. Sewer lines and manholes are slated for replacement.
Condemnation proceedings are to begin on one property, but delayed for three other properties.
The board declared 413 E. Nelston St. a public nuisance and ordered demolition to begin.
The property owner of 317 and 319 Oliver St. has been given 60 additional days.
Barfield Outdoor Advertising received a special use permit application to place billboards along the U.S. Highway 117 Bypass. It involves two parcels of land on the west side of the bypass, just south of the bridge across N.C. Highway 55.
The board also approved a number of general fund budget amendments.
