DUDLEY - Southern Wayne remained unbeaten with a 47-31 conquest of East Wake in Quad County 3A girls’ basketball action Wednesday evening.
Nevaeh Hines-Bass and JaMaya Leach tallied 14 points apiece for the Saints, who climbed to 15-0 overall and 7-0 in QCC play.
Ta’Niyah Glaspie provided eight points and 10 rebounds. Jamaiya Bass collected eight points.
Southern Wayne prevailed 25-9 in the JV girls’ game.
Mylie Hatfield knocked down 10 points, while Kyren Strong scored six.
The Saints are 7-2 overall and 6-0 in the QCC.
Southern Wayne entertains Hunt on Friday.
GOLDSBORO - Reece Outlaw pumped in 16 points as North Duplin dominated Rosewood, 51-19, in a Carolina 1A girls’ basketball encounter Wednesday evening.
Outlaw collected six steals and two assists for the Rebels, who rose to 13-1 overall and 4-1 in league matters this season.
Addy Higginbotham supplied 11 points, eight assists, three steals and two rebounds. Tateyawna Faison just missed a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Starr Jaco contributed 10 points, three steals and four rebounds.
Meghan Martin logged five steals and six rebounds.
The Rebels have won two of their last three meetings against the Eagles, who lead the series 16-6 since 2010.
