ANGIER — Harnett Central athletes Anna Vreeling and Brittany Mills celebrated their respective agreements to play at the next level Thursday.
Vreeling plans to join the Hollins University tennis program in the fall.
The Lady Trojans senior accumulated a 23-13 overall record the past two seasons and teamed up with Malaya McFadyen this year to make regionals. Vreeling also won a career-high 10 singles matches this season.
Mills intends to play both tennis and basketball at Pfeiffer University.
The 5-foot-9, two-sport athlete amassed a 41-16 overall record on the hardcourt since last year. This season, she posted a 9-1 doubles record with Emme Ann Thompson to qualify for regionals.
On the hardwood, Mills helped Central to four straight state playoffs appearances while collecting a 66-21 mark in the process. The two-time, All-Record first-team selection averaged just under 10 points and nearly 2.5 steals for her career.
