Internet and parking lot work remains on the docket at town hall.
Insurance adjusters are finalizing the estimate to rewire the web connection after a 2021 Labor Day fire destroyed part of the building. ITSS Inc. of Goldsboro is handling project, which could cost $7,500.
Town Manager Jammie Royall said the work can be completed in two afternoons.
The main wiring will take place in the town manager’s office instead of the police department. It is expected to have a quicker speed and run more efficiently.
“We are doing this because every time we had any internet issues we had to get somebody in the police department to fix it,” Royall said.
Personnel can officially move into their new offices when the wiring is complete.
It’s on the “small-jobs” list, but repainting the lines of 30 parking lot spaces at town hall needs to be done.
Weather and routine wear have caused the white lines to fade away.
The job will be done during the weekends when there is no traffic, according to Royall.
“It is something that we know is needed, but all the work that has been going on at town hall for the last nine months has prevented us from getting to that project,” Royall said.
