Gators cruise into Neuse Six 2A tournament final

SEVEN SPRINGS - Spring Creek moved one step closer to claiming the inaugural Neuse Six 2A boys’ soccer tournament crown with a 6-0 whitewashing of Princeton on Tuesday evening.

The top-seeded Gators (13-2-1 overall) oppose second-seeded North Johnston in the championship tilt today. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at “The Swamp.”

Senior Oswaldo Escudero collected goals in the 28th and 30th minute, and doled out one assist for the Gators.

Adrian Tavera boosted Spring Creek’s lead to 3-0 at halftime with a goal in the 36th minute.

Luiz Velasquez, Jason Velasquez Perez and Noah Coleman-Kelly Each notched a second-half goal.

Jesse Torres handed out two assists for Spring Creek, which extended its win streak to 11 games. Bryan Lopez, Alex Carmona Morales and Selvin Velasquez registered one assist apiece.

North Johnston advanced with a 2-0 shutout over Goldsboro.
