Faces additional charges for possession of meth

A Four Oaks man was served with arrest warrants June 12 in Benson. A Johnston County deputy located Buddy Ray Brown, of the 6800 block of Highway U.S. 301 South, while on Main Street in Benson.

Brown was wanted on arrest warrants from the Oak Island Police Department in Brunswick County for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and conspiracy.

While taking Brown into custody, the deputy reportedly found a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession. Brown was subsequently charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 48-year-old suspect was held at the Johnston County Jail on a $25,000 bond on the Oak Island Police warrants. He was given an additional $10,000 bond on the Johnston County drug charges.
