A known gang member was taken into federal custody after authorities executed two search warrants on two homes.
The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office searched properties owned by Victor Gonzales on Albert Grady Road near Mount Olive.
Investigators say they discovered approximately five ounces of methamphetamine, seven pipe bombs, a Delton AR-15, a .22 caliber pistol, a .25 caliber pistol, a 20-gauge shotgun and a .22 caliber pistol.
Authorities requested the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Wilmington Police Department bomb squad to deactivate the pipe bombs.
Gonzales is member of the Surenos-13 gang, according to deputies.
