Lady Rebels dominate rematch against Eagles

CALYPSO — In a highly anticipated rematch between two formidable softball teams, the North Duplin Lady Rebels emerged victorious Thursday night against the Wayne Christian School Eagles with a commanding 17-7 win. The game, held at North Duplin High School, featured high winds at times, and a few showers that made play a bit difficult.

Cutting edge science event set for WCC

Reentry Council brings awareness to Second Chance Month

GOLDSBORO – The Wayne County Reentry Council will host activities in April to recognize Second Chance Month, a national effort to bring awareness to formerly incarcerated individuals’ reentry into society.

Hinson to head Wayne Arts Council

In January, the Arts Council of Wayne County announced the beginning of an executive director search to identify the organization’s next leader. After an extensive process led by a search committee, the Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Anna Hinson.
