Wayfinding signs needed, but money not budgeted

There is still a big need for a number of wayfinding signs throughout town, but officials say they do not have the funds at this time to pay for them.

A number of signs directing traffic to Mount Olive Pickle Company and its facilities, as well as to the airport have already been erected.

The pickle company paid for its signs.

The signs are not terribly expensive, the town manager said, but he also said the funds for them have not been budgeted.

He said the money to continue with the signs may be budgeted in the next fiscal year budget.

Signs to assist motorists new to town to the downtown district, Westbrook Park, Nelson Street Park, Daughtry Field and Carver Cultural Center are still needed.
