Pastor’s appreciation service set

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church of Mount Olive, 3414 Summerlins Crossroad Road, will hold a 14th pastoral appreciation service for the Rev. James A. Davis at 11 a.m. Sunday. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Samuel Stallings and the Friendship Missionary Baptist B. Church Choir of Rose Hill will render the music.

The public is invited to attend.

‘Good Grief’ sermon Sunday

Outlaw’s Bridge Universalist Church, 4408 N.C. Highway 111 N., Seven Springs, will continue its sermon series on negative or difficult emotions with a focus on grief at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Claudia M. Frost will lead the service, titled “Good Grief.”

The sermon will focus on living with unresolved loss or grief and what faith teaches about grief. The public is invited to attend.

Mission service
Aug. 4

Greater St. Luke United Holy Church of America, 310 W. South St., Rose Hill, will host a mission service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4.The messenger will be the Rev. Tony Harrington, pastor of First Baptist Church in Magnolia. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. District Elder Anthony Flow is the pastor at Greater St. Luke. The public is invited to attend.
