Lapoint featured at Outlaw’s Bridge

The Rev. Justin Lapoint will lead the service “Hosea Ballou was Right: The Problem With the Vicarious Atonement” at Outlaw’s Bridge Universalist Church, 4408 N. N.C. 111, Seven Springs, Sunday at 11 a.m. In 1805, Hosea Ballou wrote A Treatise on Atonement in which “he analyzed the doctrines of the Trinity and the vicarious atonement of Jesus and pointed out the contradictions” in them, according to Henry Cheetham in his book Unitarianism and Universalism. Rev. Lapoint will focus on the vicarious atonement and demonstrate how this doctrine has turned Christians away from the teachings of Jesus.

Revival at Payne Temple AME Zion

Payne Temple AME Zion, 915 S. Center St., Mount Olive, will hold Lent Revival on Thursday nights in March and April. The dates and speakers and their church families are as follows:

Greater St. Luke UHCA Mission Service

Greater St. Luke UHCA, 310 W. S. Street, Rose Hill, will have Mission Service April 7 at 11 a.m. The messenger will be Minister Dexter Ingram, an associate minister of Greater St. Luke UHCA, with the Greater St. Luke UHCA Male Chorus providing the music. The public is invited. District Elder Anthony Flow is the pastor.

Senior Citizens Banquet at Northeast Church

Northeast OFWB, 489 Northeast Church Road, Mount Olive, will have its annual Senior Citizens Banquet on March 31. Sunday school is at 10 a.m., and church is at 11. The church service will include a workshop through the musical selections of Randy Cashwell as well as a banquet to follow provided by the church. Contact Amy Best for information at 919-738-5427.

Easter egg hunt in Westbrook Park

The Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church will have an Easter egg hunt in Westbrook Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 20. There will be inflatables, hot dogs, face painting, carnival games, and over 500 goodie bags for the children. Call John Michaelson at 919-658-5122 for additional information.
