A Seven Springs woman is facing a drug charge after deputies say they found a substance suspected to be methamphetamine in her possession during a traffic stop.
Deputies of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team were patrolling the N.C. Highway 111 South area on Nov. 19 when they stopped a vehicle for a reported traffic violation.
Officers say they were given a consent to search during the stop and found 22-year-old Kelly Victoria Adkins of 278 Adams Road in possession of a substance that appeared to be meth.
Adkins was charged with possession of meth and was also cited for a child support violation, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Adkins was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $1,000 bond.
