RALEIGH — Sen. Jim Perry, R - Wayne, has recently been appointed to The Justus-Warren Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force by the president pro tempore of the North Carolina Senate, Sen. Phil Berger. This is Perry’s second task force assignment. Earlier this year, Berger appointed him to the North Carolina Child Fatality Task Force.
“I am thankful to serve the people of Wayne and Lenoir county in the N.C. Senate,” Perry said. “Senator Berger has given me several learning opportunities, and I am thankful for each of them.”
Heart disease and stroke impact the lives of many of North Carolina’s citizens and are the second and fourth leading causes of death. The Justus-Warren Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force works to reduce heart disease and stroke in North Carolina.
Perry currently serves on the following committees: appropriations on health and human services, health care, commerce and insurance, pensions and retirement and aging, and state and local government.
