Proving you are who you say you are isn’t racist

If requiring a photo identification for voting is racist, why is a photo required on a driver’s license not?

Both, it certainly appears, are required to prove you are who you say you are.

Is there something wrong with that?

Lawmakers in North Carolina have already approved a photo required for voting, but the NAACP filed a lawsuit saying it is racist and a federal judge has agreed.

The law was set to go into effect this year, but now it is all boggled down in legal and bureaucratic red tape.

Voting is a constitutional right that has been protected for more than two centuries and endured with an awesome price—the blood of thousands. Voting should also be required.

There is no racist intent that I can see in requiring a photo ID at the polls.

Black, white, or whatever, it is vital in fairness to all that you are who you say you are.

Try protesting about the photo required on your driver’s license, a photo to cash a check, the same to get on an airplane, for a bank account, to rent or buy a house, get a Medicare card, or even use a credit card. Try whining about those requires and you’ll be wasting time, plus the time of the people behind you.

It is all at the point of complete disgust.

I simply cannot see any validity whatsoever in the accusation of racism to show a photo ID to vote.

Some folks do lie, you know.

I do see validity of concern about voter fraud. Few elections on local, state and national levels in recent years have survived the duration without the clouds of alleged fraud.

I see no complaints from folks who have nothing to hide.

There is a dire need for this “you owe me” society we live in today to re-examine its values.

Quit whining and go get a photo ID, because in today’s world it is difficult, if not impossible, to get along without it.

Now, all we can do is wait and see the outcome of legal action.

However, a little advice to you “owe me” folks, you can get a photo ID free at your local board of elections.

I have no issue whatsoever with showing a photo ID at the polls.

I do have issue with someone behind me who thinks he or she is special and should not have to provide the same.

Some of you snowflakes need to get in the game or sit down and shut up.
