A Dudley couple is behind bars after deputies say they found them drunk and disorderly in a parking lot at a Mar-Mac Dollar General with an infant in the back seat of their car.
Deputies responded to a call of an intoxicated person and a domestic situation at the 200 Genoa Crossing store around 11 a.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival, deputies say they observed 35-year-old Crystal Marie Icenhour of 264 Smith Logging Lane exit the vehicle from the driver’s side. She appeared to be intoxicated, according to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. “While investigating, Icenhour became very irate and uncooperative by attempting to leave the scene.”
The man in her passenger seat, 53-year-old Randy Carter Pipkin of Smith Logging Lane, was also “irate and uncooperative,” pulling away from deputies as they tried to arrest him, according to the release.
Inside the couple’s vehicle, deputies say they found three open cans of an alcoholic beverage, two unopened cases of alcoholic beverages and a baby in the back seat.
Deputies placed Icenhour under arrest and transported her to the Wayne County Detention Center. Enroute, officers say, she attempted to “unsecure herself” and then tried to escape once they arrived at the jail.
Icenhour submitted to DWI testing and was subsequently arrested for DWI, according to the release.
She has been charged with driving while impaired, driving with a license that had been revoked for impairment, misdemeanor child abuse, having an open container of alcohol in a car, resisting arrest and being intoxicated and disruptive. She was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $12,500 secured bond.
Pipkin was charged with aiding and abetting a DWI, being intoxicated and disruptive, misdemeanor child abuse, resisting arrest, aiding and abetting someone who was driving with a revoked license and for having an open container of alcohol in a car. He was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
