Town officials are one step closer to demolishing three “eye-sore” properties.
Owners of a historical home on Chestnut Street, the Kraft Studios and Center Theater have not submitted plans for their respective properties.
Town attorney W. Carroll Turner told the board of commissioners if he doesn’t receive any assurance that improvement plans have started, he will begin condemnation action.
Turner said the Chestnut Street home, owned by Mr. and Mrs. James Dove, appears worth saving. The property has been inspected and if work is not done quickly, it will be too late.
Nicholas Swinson owns the Kraft building and just recently acquired the theater.
