No applicants have expressed interest for the town’s vacant finance officer job.
The position becomes available Feb. 1 when long-time Town Clerk and Finance Officer Kay Anderson retires after 41 years of service.
The town’s board of commissioners were expected to approve the separation of the town clerk and finance officer jobs, but did not take any action on the matter.
Sherry Davis, the town’s administrative assistant, has been named interim town clerk.
Jammie Royall, town manager, said he does not know the starting salary for the finance officer position. He said it has not been discussed.
Mayor Ken Talton hopes to have both positions filled by Feb. 1.
