Mount Olive man in jail after probation search


A 25-year-old man is facing drugs and gun charges after a probation-related search of his Mount Olive home.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office’s Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team assisted probation officers in a search of Dillon Blake Brown’s home at 133 Wintergreen Lane on Oct. 30. Two firearms, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered in the search, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Brown was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed under a $7,500 secured bond.

Brown was on probation for convictions of possessing a schedule II controlled substance (a schedule that includes cocaine and opioids), larceny and possessing stolen goods in 2017. He was sentenced to 2 1/2 years of probation on the charges Dec. 6.
