Mission kick-off, New Year revival coming up

Greetings and happy New Year from yours truly and the Wesley Smith Chapel Community. Happy special birthday to trustee Larry Ward on Jan. 16, trustee Linda Moore on Jan. 21, and trustee Bennie Ward on Jan. 24.

  • A worship service will be held Sunday morning at St. Luke Church of Christ, 636 Waller Road, where Pastor Elder Kenneth Freeman, will deliver the message. The congregation will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. with guest speaker Nilian Banks and music by the choir.
  • Apostle Francine Hargett will be the guest preacher at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Red Hill Church Road, Clinton, at 3 p.m. Jan. 19. Pastor Elder Ray Bolton invites you to come and fellowship.
  • Apostle Leroy Hargett will be the guest preacher at Way of the Cross Church, 836 Waycross Road, Turkey, at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 where Apostles Marcus and Wendy Becton serve as pastors.
  • Ram in the Bush Holy Church, 3731 U.S. Highway 117 Alt. S., Dudley will host its New Year Revival Week services at 7:30 each night between Jan. 20 and Jan. 24 with revivalist preacher Elder Marlene Duncan of Goldsboro. At 7:30 p.m. services Jan. 27-31, Apostle Michael Artis of St. John Kingdom Ministry in Snow Hill will deliver the word. Pastor Elder Annie Wade and the church family invite you to come and fellowship.
  • New Greenleaf Church of Christ, 301 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, will present its Mission Kick Off service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 with special guests Elder Aaron Jarman and the New Bethany FWB Church of Albertson rendering the service along with the church’s choir, usher and congregation. Pastor Dr. Dorothy Heath and Deacon Pedro Heath invite you to come and fellowship.

  • New St. Delight UHC, 693 Suttontown Road, invites you to worship with the church every first, second, third and fourth Sunday at 11 a.m. Bible study is held every Wednesday night at 7. Pastor Elder Travis Gardener invites you.
  • Goshen Disciple Church, 7120 Suttontown Road, Faison, invites you to worship services held at 11 a.m. every second, fourth and fifth Sunday of the month with Bible studies each Wednesday at 7 p.m. Pastor Elder Donald DeWitt invites you to come and fellowship.
  • Sampson Chapel Church of Christ 9585 U.S. Highway 421, Clinton, invites you to Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship services held at 11 a.m. every second, third and fourth Sunday of the month. Bible studies are held every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Elder Donald Graham serves as pastor.

    Please keep Michael Ward in your prayers. He is still a patient at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Fletcher Ward Jr. is at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro and is doing great. Phillip is at Wayne UNC Health Care.

    Our prayers and sympathy are with the family of Annette Ammons who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5 at her home. A homegoing celebration was held at noon on Friday, Jan. 10 at Smith Chapel FWB Church, 713 Pineview Cemetery Road, where the Pastor is Elder Anthony Flow. Ammons is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Ray) Carmon, of Dudley; six grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters. A viewing was held on Thursday. Garris Funeral Home was in charge.
