A Bladenboro man was arrested on a variety of charges, including possession of a stolen firearm, after a domestic call to a home on McArthur Pond Road in Mount Olive on Oct. 29.
Twenty-eight-year-old Alex Blake Inman of 354 Ronald Britt Road was arrested after a confrontation with officers at the home, according to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident unraveled after officers responded to a domestic call at the 995 McArthur Pond Road home and learned Inman had reportedly fled the home with a gun stolen from his girlfriend’s father.
Officers say they began a search of the area and found Inman hiding in a field across from the home.
Inman was taken into custody after a brief struggle and the gun was found in his pocket, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
Inman is charged with larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting direct orders, malicious conduct by a prisoner, carrying a concealed firearm, communicating threats, damage to government property, and drunk and disruptive. He was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
