The move-in date for town hall is now March.
“Maybe by the first of March,” said Town Manager Jammie Royall.
Reconstruction continues on the facility after a Labor Day fire destroyed the town clerk’s office.
Administrators have been out of place and have operated from a variety of locations within town hall.
If work is completed by March 1 and the office furniture arrives on time, business could return to normal.
“It is important that we have all the furniture that we have selected to go back into the offices, but we will have to wait and see if that happens,” Royall said. “I am hoping we can move back in another month, but realistically it is probably going to be about two months.”
ServePro handled the clean-up operation and is close to completing a construction phase that involves sheet rock installation, lowering the ceilings and putting in light fixtures.
Estimated damage from the fire is approximately $119,000.
