Governor recognizes local gospel group

A district court judge presented a letter of award from Gov. Roy Cooper honoring local gospel group, One Accord, at an annual revival at First Baptist Missionary Church in Kenansville on Aug. 27.

District Court Judge Carol Jones, of the 4A and 4B Judicial Districts serving Duplin, Jones, Sampson, and Onslow counties was requested to make the presentation to the group’s nine-members: Pastor Anthony L. Ezzell, Rev. Gary Fisher, Ira Anderson, Milton D. Whitfield Sr., Andre Smith, David Darden, Patrick Grady, Leroy Dixon and Joseph L. Teachey.

Jones presented the letter of award to the group acknowledging the celebration of One Accord’s second CD and sixth anniversary of ministry through music.

Jones bestowed the best wishes of Cooper on One Accord.
