Festival design coincides with town’s 150th anniversary

The unique design for the upcoming 34th annual North Carolina Pickle Festival has been unveiled.

It reflects a tribute to the town’s 150th anniversary, as well as the role and heritage of pickles in the community.

The design will be available on T-shirts next month.

The festival will be held this year on the weekend of April 25.

This year’s annual Pickle Festival Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Southern Bank Auditorium on the campus of the University of Mount Olive. It is open to all ages. Winners will reign over the annual April festival.

The town’s 150th anniversary celebration kicks off with a March 1, 4 p.m. program scheduled to be held in the The Hazel Waters Kornegay Assembly Hall at 207 Wooten Street.
