Family and Friends Day is this week at St. Luke

Greetings from the Wesley-Smith Chapel community.

St. Luke Church of Christ will celebrate Family and Friends Day Sunday at 11 a.m. with Elder Kenneth Freeman delivering the message. Music will be provided by the choir. All family and friends are invited and dinner will be served.

New Life Worship Center, 218 Maple St., Mount Olive, will celebrate Family and Friends Day on March 10 at 11 a.m. with guest preacher Elder Dante Randolph of Grace Park Church Ministry in Durham and music by Dr. Schenita Davis Randolph and Praise Team. Pastor Janice Williams invites you to come.

St. Luke Church of Christ worship service will be held on March 17 at 11 a.m. with the message delivered by the pastor, Elder Kenneth Freeman, and music by the choir. At 3 p.m., the Shepherd Care Ministry will present “A Father, Son, and Holy Ghost” service with guest speakers Elder Adrian Richardson, Minister Shonette Carraway and Elder Faye Johnson. The president, Elder Cynthia Barnes invites you to come and fellowship at St. Luke Church.

The Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly Usher’s Convention will be held March 15 and 16. On Friday night, March 15, at 7, there will be a musical program featuring various choirs. On Saturday, March 16, the Usher’s Convention will begin at 10 a.m. At 2 p.m. there will be a Rainbow Tea. Registration fee is $20 for both days and a $10 donation for the Rainbow Tea. You are invited by the president of St. Luke Usher’s Board to come and support the Goldsboro-Raleigh Usher’s Convention. President Sister Betty Wells invites everyone to attend.

Poplar Grove MB Church, Faison, will hold its Usher’s Anniversary March 10 at 3 p.m. All ushers are invited to attend.

The Men of FIC (Faith, Integrity, and Character) will celebrate their eighth anniversary Saturday at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Building on Chestnutt Street in Mount Olive. Each year they have a “Togetherness Banquet” to honor individual businesses and civic groups who have made meaningful contributions to the betterment of Mount Olive and surrounding communities. This year the Men of FIC will honor Piggly Wiggly, American Legion Post 103, Brenda Artis, The Bridge of Hope Ministry, and the Peanut Crew of the United Methodist Church. The speaker will be Pastor Adrian Grandy of the Solid Rock United Holy Church of St. Paul. The Men’s Fellowship of the Burning Bush Holy Church of Faison invites you to attend their 20th annual Men’s Conference March 8-9. Services Friday, March 8, will begin at 7:30 p.m.. The guest speaker will be Apostle Rod Broadnax of Columbus, Miss. He is a pastor and a superintendent of a public school system in Mississippi. Music will be rendered by the Hines Chapel Male Chorus of Warsaw. On Saturday, March 9, at 9 a.m. a prayer breakfast will be held with guest speaker the Rev. Michael Maddox of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. The public is invited to attend and worship. The pastor is Elder Beulah Pickett, president is Trustee Jhan Allen, and vice president is Brother Michael Houston.

Gateway Deliverance Ministries, 225 Isaac Weeks Road, Clinton, invites you to a Founder’s Day celebration continuing through Sunday. It kicked off Tuesday at 7 p.m. with pastor Fernando Geddie of True Destiny Devine Ministries and Pastor Thaddeus Godwin of Lisbon St. MB Church of Clinton delivering the service. On Wednesday at 7 p.m., Pastor Russ Emanuel of Olive Grove Church and Pastor Onyx Martin of Higher Level Worship Center will deliver the message. On Thursday at 7 p.m., Pastor Andrew Thomas of Temple of God Church and Pastor Vincent Gunn of Father Temple Church will deliver the service.

On Sunday at 11 a.m., the guest preacher will be Elder Terrell Powell and Holly Grove Church Choir, usher, and congregation of Clinton. The culmination service will be held at 3 p.m. with guest preacher Pastor Sharon Lane of Roseboro Community Center and Pastor Cheryl Moore of Zion Temple Church. The pastor, Elder Eddie and Angela Parker invite everyone to come and fellowship.

Original Tabernacle of Prayer, 1005 S. John St., Goldsboro, will present the 2019 Spring Time Revival March 23-24 at 7:30 p.m. On March 23, guest preacher will be Pastor Delois Waddell and Holy Temple Miracle Tabernacle of Snow Hill. On March 24 at 11 a.m., the guest preacher will be Apostle Willie Bogier, overseer of New Hope Tabernacle of Prayer of Thomasville.

Holly Grove Church of Christ, 114 N. McCullen Road, Clinton, will present the 22nd Pastoral Anniversary for their pastor, Elder Terrell Powell on March 9 at 6 p.m. with a musical concert featuring Voices of Triumph.

Tru Prayze of Smithfield Voices of Purpose will celebrate Donald Terrell Powell’s 22nd Pastoral Anniversary March 8 at 7:30 p.m. with guest preacher Pastor Timothy Dartch and Word of Truth Christian Fellowship of Goldsboro. On March 10, the guest preacher will be Dr. Dorothy Heath and New Greenleaf Church of Christ, Goldsboro. The Holly Grove Church family invites everyone to come and celebrate.

Greater St. Luke UH Church, 310 W. South St., Rose Hill, will present its annual First Lady Appreciation Service honoring Elder Vickie Flow March 10 at 4 p.m. with guest speaker Elder Sharon Pickett and St. John UH Church or Burgaw and St. Delight UH Church of La Grange. The pastor is District Elder Anthony Flow.

Goshen Disciple Church, Suttontown Road, Faison, will celebrate their pastor, Elder Donald DeWitt’s pastor’s anniversary on March 25 at 11 a.m. with guest Elder Kenneth Freeman and St. Luke Church of Christ Choir, usher, and congregation of Mount Olive.

Happy special birthday to Aunt Cynthia Wright of Greenville (Feb. 20). We love you; from yours truly, Glenda along with Dante, Schenita, Joshua and Kaelyn Randolph.

Our hearts, prayers, and sympathy are with the family of Barbara Draughon Smith of Magnolia, the CEO of Elite Cuts of Wallace. Barbara’s homegoing celebration was held at 1 p.m. at Greater Six Run MB Church in Turkey with eulogy by Elder Marcus Beckton. Services were handled by Worley Funeral Home in Clinton.

Our prayers, love, and sympathy are with the family of Mildred “Shortie” Brewington, who was funeralized on Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. at St. Mark Church on Nelson Street, Mount Olive. Services were arranged by Harris Funeral Home.
