The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the State Highway Patrol have teamed up to offer a unified message to drivers in southeastern Wayne County: “Drive safely and obey the rules of the road.”
The two departments have joined forces to crackdown on aggressive drivers in the area.
The concentrated driving enforcement effort is the result of a number of traffic incidents in the southeastern portion of Wayne County. The month-long crackdown is also the result of a number of residential complaints about speeders, careless and reckless drivers, and aggressive drivers.
Sheriff Larry Pierce said he hopes the effort will reduce traffic incidents in the concentrated area, save lives and prevent property damage.
“We urge motorists to drive safely, and obey the rules of the road,” he said.
