Deacons and Trustees’ service Sunday

Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 3414 Summerlin Crossroad Road, will observe its Deacons and Trustees Service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Kenneth Morrisey and Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Turkey will be the church’s guests. The Rev. James A. Davis will deliver the morning sermon at 11 and the church choir will render the music.

The public is invited to attend.

‘The Constitution 1787’ is Sunday

Outlaw’s Bridge Universalist Church, 4408 N.C. Highway 111 N., Seven Springs, will host the program “The Constitution 1787” given by Ed Clark at 11 a.m. Sunday. Clark is a retired Air Force veteran and educator. He is set to tell how the constitution of 1787 was a product of compromise. America’s second constitution became necessary after the Articles of Confederation, the nation’s first constitution, proved unworkable. The Rev. Claudia M. Frost is pastor of the church.

Pancake, sausage supper March 28

The Women of the Hood’s Grove Baptist WMU will hold a pancake and sausage supper and auction on March 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church for a donation. Proceeds will go toward the church’s missions. The church is located at 677 Hood’s Grove Church Road, Newton Grove. Call 919-894-5977 for more information.
