DUDLEY - Southern Wayne's varsity football program is on pause due to safety concerns for its players and staff under COVID-19 protocols.
The move comes after a D.H. Conley player tested positive. The Vikings defeated the Saints, 28-0.
SW is scheduled to play Charles B. Aycock at home Friday and visit county rival Eastern Wayne on March 12.
"We are having to quarantine most of our players for 10 days," Saints athletics director David Lee said. "[The Aycock game] has been postponed to a later date."
Since prep sports resumed in early November, every athletic team at the Wayne County school has paused its season due to virus contact tracing from another school.
