25th Pastor Banquet to be held May 18

Posted

Greetings from the Wesley Smith Chapel Community. Happy Mother’s Day to each and everyone.

I pray that all mothers had a great weekend. Congratulations to all of the graduates far and near in 2019.

Our prayers and sympathy are with the family of the late James George, who was remembered at 2 p.m. Sunday in a funeral service at Cedar Point Church in Newton Grove. Majestic Funeral Home in Elizabethtown held the service.

St. Luke Church of Christ, 636 Waller Road, will host its Women’s Day service at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19, with Elder Cynthia Barnes to deliver the message. The St. Luke choir will provide the music. I would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Gertie Stevens and the Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church’s choir, usher and congregation for rendering our Women’s Day service on the first Sunday this month. A special thank you to Elder Cynthia Ward Manley for rendering our Mother Board Appreciation service on that same afternoon.

Thank you to each and everyone who attended our annual Rainbow Tea on Saturday, May 11, at 5 p.m. and thank you to Evangelist Mary Ward, who served as our guest speaker, and to Michael Ward for the beautifully decorated fellowship hall.

Everyone is invited to come and show love to Pastor Janice Williams at the 25th Pastor Banquet at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, in the St. Luke Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. There will be food and fellowship. The colors for the banquet will be teal and silver. A monetary donation will be accepted. For more information, contact Glenda at 919-658-1503 or Minister Carl Faison.

Happy birthday to Lillian Royall, Franklin Davis and Sakeitha Reece, who celebrated May 8. Happy birthday to Pastor Janice Williams on May 6 from your New Life Worship Center church family, Elder Kenneth Freeman and the St. Luke church family, and Elderess Velma McKinley and the House of Prayer House in Faison. Happy birthday to my aunt, Niecy Weeks, on May 23 and to Carolyn Allen on May 24.

Elder Cynthia Barnes will be the guest preacher at Ray of Hope Church Ministries at 7:30 p.m. on May 23 in Snow Hill, where the Pastor Apostle Nancy Reid invites you.
