Local man reported missing

By William Holloman
From reports

A Mount Olive man has been added to the Missing Persons List at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

Missing is 60-year-old Samuel Watkins, a white male. He was last seen when he left his residence on Mills Road on February 25 around 6:30 p.m. He apparently left home walking in an unknown direction.

According to the statement released, he would have been wearing work boots, blue jeans, a dark colored shirt and a camouflage hat with Howard Home Repair written on it. Watkins, investigators said, has limited mobility and extreme difficulty walking and walks with a severe limp.

Officers said family and friends of the missing man have been contacted and no one has seen or had contact with him since February 25. He does have friends in Clinton, but they say they have not seen him.

Anyone with any information on the welfare or location of Samuel Watkins is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department at 919-731-1481.
